32nd Scientific Writing Workshop

The Postgraduate Institute of Science is organizing the 32nd Scientific Writing Workshop for Master degree programmes (2025 and 2026 batches) and MPhil/PhD students attached to the following Boards of Study. The workshop will be conducted on Saturday, 05th September 2026.

• Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (Master Programme in Clinical Biochemistry, Molecular Biology & Biotechnology)
• Chemical Sciences (Master Programme in Analytical Chemistry , Nanoscience & Nanotechnology, Industrial Chemistry)
• Physics (Master programme in Physics of Material and Medical Physics)
• Plant Sciences (Master programme in Medical Microbiology and Pharmaceutical Botany)
• Zoological Sciences (Master programme in Applied Epidemiology)
• Biomedical Sciences (MPhil PhD students)

Please note that this is the last Scientific Writing Workshop conducted in year 2026. The attendance at all workshop sessions is compulsory for the successful completion of your respective postgraduate degree programme and to be eligible for graduation and participation at the convocation.
The Master/MPhil/PhD students who are attached to the mentioned Boards of study who have not completed the workshop previously, are instructed to participate at the workshop and to inform their participation to the email provided below.

The Postgraduate Institute of Science (PGIS) is a National Institute established by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in 1996, by an ordinance made by the University Grants Commission under section 18 with section 24A of the Universities Act No. 16 of 1978, for the purpose of providing, promoting and developing higher education in science.

The PGIS is attached to the University of Peradeniya and depends on the university for formulation and implementation of its academic programmes and the award of postgraduate degrees.
