ONE-DAY WORKSHOP ON ‘WILDLIFE GARDENING’

Conducted jointly by the Board of Study in Plant Sciences of the PGIS and
the Department of Horticulture & Landscape Gardening, Wayamba University

Wildlife garden is an environment friendly low maintenance garden attractive to and support various forms of wildlife such as birds, small mammals, amphibians, butterflies and other insects. Wildlife gardening is a popular concept but rather new to Sri Lanka.

The objective of the workshop is to introduce wildlife gardening and address,


• Wildlife gardening-landscape practices and principles of creating a wildlife garden
• Ways of attracting wildlife (birds, butterflies, dragon flies and other insects) to the garden.

Target Group:
Those interested in gardening, wildlife gardening and practicing landscaping, preferably with a university degree. Number of participants will be limited to 30.

Workshop Fee:
Rs. 1500/= (Includes course material, lunch and tea).
